So I'm a little late on posting for Mikey's birthday! It was a pretty chill birthday (March 20th) for him but I think he enjoyed it nonetheless :) We got his Adam tablet and that's all he wanted! I topped it off with lunch at the Asian Buffet and a chess game from Jeremy...oh and LOADS of chocolate cupcakes! Happy 28th to my young love!

...we did celebrate Christmas and New Years and today we're celebrating Valentine's! Our little Jer-bug is growing fast. He's 5 months now. CrAZy right?! He's rolling over, and rolls back on occasion. He's eating his veggies, peas, green beans and carrots. We'll introduce fruits in a few weeks more than likely. We're a month behind on his Wellness visits so tomorrow we have his "4" month visit, though really he's 5 and we'll get back on track and make it to his 6 month on time :) He likes to talk, though we're not sure what language he speaks. Hopefully we can learn it! On week days he's a good little napper, then on Sunday's he decides he doesn't want to be a good napper, but if he's happy about it, we let it slide a little! That's how we roll!
In less than 2 weeks we sign on our new townhome! We have made a couple visits to the ward and LOVE it. The people are so kind and friendly! We look forward to finally establishing ourselves in our own ward and not being temps anymore :)

You would think by the title of this post that it would be about our Jeremy huh!?

Well not this time! (Though I need to play blogger catch up) This time

Mikey and I are truly becoming BIG kids and buying our own home!

At the end of February, as long as things go as planned, we will be moving into

a nice townhome in South Jordan. We. Can't. Wait!

I'm so excited in fact that I made a countdown chain. Mock if you will but until I'm

in my own home and can decorate and craft this is what we are using for decor!

Once a month, I'm on a roll! Ha! Well after our sweet little dude got blessed, I turned 30! WOOOO!
Mike surprised me with a fun dinner at Applesbees with some close friends! It was a fun evening and very thoughtful of Mikey :)

Jerbug was supposed to have his 2 month wellness check but I thought I'd take him to Disneyland instead.It was a spontaneous trip with Nana and a few cousins! We had a great time and he did AWESOME!!

However I can tell you he weighs 13lbs now!! He's growing so fast! He is smiling and squealing so much now I love it! All the little coo's make my day! He's decided he likes licking his hand, not just sucking on it, it's rather comical actually! He loves when I sing Santa Clause is Coming to Town!

He is sleeping so well at night, getting at least 1, if not 2, 4 hour blocks of sleep between his nightly feedings.
And last night he had his first hair cut....err.. head shaving! Eeek! Yup, we shaved his grandpa hair ring off! He sure looks handsome as can be, just a bald handsome!

My body has been healing nicely from the c-section. I'm still slowly working out but it's going well (though last night I must have slept funny cause my lower back is kinked).

Mikey started a new job last week!!!!!!!!!!!! SO happy about it. I can take him if I need the car. It's literally a 5 minute commute up the street. HUGE blessing for us.

Other than being sick with nasty coughs this past week, we are doing fairly well! We can't really complain. Life is pretty darn good :)

I'm neglecting my blog a bit. Sorry. It's getting neglected so I don't neglect this sweet little boy who got blessed today by his handsome daddy! We've had a pretty good day, aside from the lack of a good nap! Jeremy was sweet as can be at church and did pretty well with all the guests then it got to be a bit overwhelming and the naps just didn't happen but all in all we have had such a nice day with our families.

Though we've had a difficult time capturing his sweet smile on camera I assure you he is smiling these days! We are LOVING it! His little smile just melts my heart...it will melt yours one day too when we actually catch it on camera, until then, take our word for it!

Our little Jer-Bug gets some of his clothes from Goodwill....meet Good Will! He is his 6 month old cousin that loves to share his clothes. We are so glad we have Good Will around...he sure is a nice guy! Thanks Will for all your awesome cute clothes you can't wear anymore, love you buddy!

Today we had our 2 week doctor appointment with Dr. Cox. Everything went well, aside from the blood drawing from the heel. Poor Nana....and Jeremy! My mom took us to our appointment. I held Jeremy while they pricked his little heel for blood. I surprisingly held good composure, Nana on the other hand was a mess! His little cry just broke our hearts and they had to prick him twice. He survived it though. He's gaining weight like a good little boy and doc says he looks awesome!

Well after my last post of having a little night owl he made a few changes! (Hope I don't jinx myself here, I did with the stretch marks dang it!) Anyway, our little Jeremy is sleeping SO great. I couldn't feel more lucky and blessed about it, especially with Mikey's work schedule. Little bug is sleeping in at least 4 hour blocks! So pretty much once in the middle of the night and then maybe one more time as Mikey is getting ready to leave for work, it's perfect! Nursing is going well. I was a little worried in the beginning but we seem to have it down...for the most part! He has this little smile he doesn't even know he has, I LOVE IT! His little Ooo faces just melt my heart. How did I live without this little fella?! I mean...seriously....look at this face!

We have a little night owl on our hands! Today we are working on keeping little bug awake a little longer during the day and or napping when he does. The nights may be tough but we can't help but fall in love all over again every morning!

Third Trimester

Ok it's time to share my feelings on this third trimester. Not sure if waiting until now was such a good idea!!

The downers:
Hi, my belly is huge and no I'm not carrying twins, thanks for asking.
Yes the baby is still in me, haven't had him yet, thanks for asking.
"Mae I need you to put my shoes and socks on my feet, I can't bend over! Thanks doll"
Oh congrats baby you found your way up to mommy's ribs. Oh boy.
Can I order a porta-potty please?! Like seriously, how many times do I really HAVE to go as apposed to just feeling like I have to?
Yoga...you thought this would be on the good list didn't you?! WRONG!
OUCH. Constant pain, hoping these tears will be tears of joy before too long.

The uppers:
Let me think....
....give me a minute...
Oh, my belly does the wave...like nobody's bidness!
Still no stretch marks *knock on wood, NOW*
As far as swelling goes, I think I'm one of the lucky ones. Though I can't wear my own wedding ring it's not obvious to others that I've retained too much water.
"Can I get that for you? Kim, go rest, go home early" Sweet words I hear often. Lots of help.
Thanks mom for folding our laundry.....again! Again, LOTS of help!
Thank you for rubbing my feet, back, bum, and always loving me Mikey! (seriously the most patient loving love of my life. He's been amazing.)

Regardless of how much pain this little Jeremy is causing my body right now I still can't believe how much love I already have for him. Though his kicks are more on the painful side now, I find myself still enjoying them and I know he's growing nice and big in there. (Doctor is already estimating 7.5-8lbs) This journey will soon be over and new exciting whirlwind chapter will begin. Bring it on. We have plenty to learn and we have so many loved ones around us to teach us. Thank you to everyone for your constant love, concern, chats, shoulders to cry on, laughter over the silliness of all this and just for being a part of our lives!

Over the past few months I've been able to enjoy showers given by family, friends, ward members and coworkers! Our little Jeremy is SO loved! I can't wait to show him how much and to dress him in everything and wrap him all the fun blankets and read him his new books! We are just a few short weeks away from meeting him and we are going CRAZY!!! I'm overwhelmed the generosity of everyone. I love hearing how others are so excited to meet him too, maybe they're just sick of the exhausted ornery look on my face! I only have a pictures from a couple showers but here they are in no particular order!

Family Time

Back in July the Simmons crew got together again for Family Lagoon Day, though this year we were short a few family members and we didn't get matching shirts, we still had a great time! Because I was unable to ride anything we decided to give Lagoon-a-Beach a try this year, everyone really seemed to enjoy it and we think we'll keep doing that for years to come. It was so relaxing for me and my prego belly to just float around the lazy river! Mike was our brave soul and had a blast on the sky coaster. We have video of it but at the moment the SD card is missing so we'll have to upload it later but it made his summer!! Unfortunately we didn't really get any pictures this year, so there you have it, we went, we rode, we exhausted ourselves and got home in one piece!!

Monkey See Monkey Do

One reason I am so excited about having a boy is all the fun Monkey things out right now! I think my mom was a bit surprised that I would dig those cute little tree swingin' little guys but I seriously think they're adorable! So one night I got thinking, is it really that weird that I am liking all the cute little monkey things!?
Then it hit me.....please see the picture below, my silly husband has given me my reason, it's no wonder I get so giddy!

2 Totally Awesome Years!

On July 23rd Mikey and I celebrated 2 fun years of marriage together! We were horrible at taking pictures so I made my mom and Mike's mom take a few pictures of us that Sunday. Friday night we celebrated by swimming and eating dinner at Macaroni Grill. Saturday Mike had to work but got off early so we enjoyed some more swimming, lunch at The Pie with Jeph and Venita and we watched Valentines Day which I thought was hysterical! Mike enjoyed it but I certainly enjoyed it MUCH more! On Sunday we had dinner at the Bailey/Simmons where Lynn planned an Anniversary Dinner for me and Mike, Jeph and Venita and John and Jaelyn! We all have our anniversaries within a couple weeks of each other. It was a wonderful meal, thank you Lynn! Monday I took the day off work and Mikey doesn't work Monday's so what did we do?! We went swimming of course, went to the doctors and heard our little guys heart beat and had a picnic at Murray Park! I have to say swimming is the BEST while pregnant, oh my goodness if you are pregnant and you haven't done this, PLEASE DO!
So those were our adventures for our 2 years of wedded awesomeness, it was a nice little stay-cation if you will!

My mom thought it would be fun for Mike to dip me....I think it was more fun for her than either of us but I still think it's a fun picture!

I hope I don't jynx myself here!
I have been very fortunate with my pregnancy in that I do not have any stretch marks. Jill didn't them either buy mom did so not sure where credit is due, but I use this Palmer's cocoa butter faithfully! I tried the stretch mark lotion and couldn't handle the smell so I went with this! I still have 8 weeks left and only time will tell if I will truly be fortunate in this department. I just have to stand proud for now, afterall, I got big fast, mutiple people have asked if I am expecting twins and yes they were serious. My sweet niece Mae informed me that her neighbor just had a baby and wasn't as big as me, I was told the same thing from a client! Anyway, doc assured me I look great and the weight I have gained is right where it should be and to punch anyone that asks is I'm having twins! So forgive me for boasting about my absense of stretch marks but gosh darn it I'm proud!
Now after reading this you would do me the kind favor and knock on some wood so I don't jynx myself, I'd greatly appreciate it!

Sneak Peak

Ummm yea, duh of course I workout. Let me break it down for you:

1. I walk, speed walk actually 10+ times a day to the restroom.
2. I do squats. Woman don't pee standing up!
3. I lift weights. Go grab a 10lb bowling ball, hold it in front of your belly and just stand there for 10 minutes and tell me you didn't start to hurt somewhere, anywhere in your body.
4. I sweat. I wake up nightly sweating, not just "Oh I'm a little warm" it's more like if I had more desire I should change my clothes from sweating.
5. I laugh. Laughing is a good Abdominal workout in my book. Try laughing more, you'll feel super tone and sexy.
6. I climb....stairs daily. I think there's 14 steps in the stairway, I do that a couple times a day at least, sometimes with light loads of laundry.
7. I stretch, stretching is great for your muscles and eases my mind at night in hopes that I don't wake up with charlie horses. NOT FUN.
8. I eat small meals. Eating small meals boosts metabolism. I eat lots of small meals. lots.
9. I wear heels. I know, I know, not the greatest but hey...works out my calves right?! I have to do extra stretching on heel days. (refer to #7)
10. I'm a soccer coach. Multiple times a day our little Jer Bug holds his own little soccer practices. Who better to coach him then the womb landlord!

And there you have it. Pretty good workout schedule if you ask me. Oh and one more...
my arms get a nice work out hold up baby clothes and toys that I come across and say ..."aaaaaw our little guy needs that!" As we draw closer to due day and the showers pour in I think my arms will get a nice sexy toning workout!

Of course things will get more and more exciting as we get closer to meeting our new little addition and of course pictures galore to come once he arrives! ...We love "Everybody Loves Raymond". We really do! It has turned into a part of our nightly routine and you wouldn't believe how happy we were when we found it plays on TV Land too!! There have been nights when I have been falling asleep and I will hear Mike start to giggle, yes giggle, and I know what show is on!

What I've learned Part 2

I'm well into my 2nd trimester now so I thought I'd better document more of what I've learned along this journey.

First the "bad"

1. The 2nd trimester isn't much different from the first (at least for me) ...until just recently.
2. There are mornings I literally need help getting out of bed in fear that I will rip something.
3. Brain? What brain? I've been known around the office to have pregnancy brain. So if I forgot to wish you a happy birthday, reply to your e-mail...etc...blame pregnancy brain. Thanks.
4. You smell. Really you do, maybe shower twice if you plan on seeing me.
5. I got big....I got big fast. Ouch.
6. Forget about twisting.
7. While shaving one leg, the other will darn near fall asleep, if I'm not fast one of these days I may fall over in the shower.

Now for the GOOD!!

1. "He's gonna be a soccer player, he is!" Not only did we find out there's a little boy inside me, I can feel him kicking around! Soccer practice in the works!
2. My skin might actually look better than it did before I was pregnant (knock on wood)
3. No stretch marks....yet...surprisingly to me with how fast my belly grew.
4. Aaaaw FOOD is back in my life. Not ALL foods (still a bit iffy with beef) but for the most part I'm able to eat just about anything now. (I think.)
5. "You, are like, the cutest prego girl I have ever seen!" Really I get told this, do I know they are lying? Of course I do. Do I care that they are lying to me? HECK NO! Tell me more, tell me more! I'm eating it up the best I can! ...and Thank you!
6. "Oh let me get that for you." A phrase I am getting used to, and enjoying. Though one coworker informed another, "she's pregnant not Dead!" Made me chuckle.
7. Look Ma, I got boobs. Seriously. (yes this is on the Good end of things, for me)
8. My husband is ridiculously attracted to my pregnant body. Refer to #7 as I'm sure that plays a part. (He will tell you, it's the whole package though...isn't he nice?)
9. Maternity garments....ARE THE BEST!! I may have to wear them post pregnancy they are so comfy!
10. Mother's Day came and I got flowers and cards! I get to start enjoying more holidays!

As you can tell the good is outweighing the bad. I still complain about some pains here and there, but all in all I'm actually starting to feel a bit better and just waddle from time to time...refer to #5 on BAD list. Each week I get more and more excited about meeting out little Jeremy Michael, whom we refer to as Jer Bug. We love him.

Next month....maternity pictures!! I was thinking Demi Moore style.

My husband the GEEK!

I couldn't be more proud to have a geek for a husband. Today he passed his CCNA test!
In short this means he is now a bigger geek then he was 24 hours ago and he's certified to prove it! I'll let him explain what all it really means if he ever gets the time. I can tell you that CCNA stands for Cisco Certified Network Associate and trust me it's a big deal and I am SO proud of him for all his hard work in studying. He is so driven right now to get all of his certifications and have a "real world job!" Join with me in CONGRATULATIONS TO MIKEY!!!!!!!

We are super excited for this little guy! He will have so many buddies to play with!
He was actually being a bit modest so we were lucky to even find out, but once we knew we couldn't stop smiling! He's going to be so much fun!

Oh the things I've learned...

I've learned a few things while being pregnant and thought I'd share....

1. Cramps aren't just for the monthly visit.
2. Just because I'm craving it, doesn't mean baby is.
3. I can start the morning looking hardly pregnant and return from work looking 6 months along, all thanks to bloating.
4. I have a tilted uterus.
5. My mid-section can grow but the number on the scale can stay the same.
6. Pregnancy is not for wussy's. (that's why us women have to go thru it.)
7. Meat never tasted so bad.
8. Water can actually make me gag.
9. I never thought it would feel so good and painful at the same time to take my bra off.
10. When it's time to eat, it's time to eat NOW.
11. Don't buy too much of one thing, it may sound delightful one day and repulsive the next.
12. Just because I'm exhausted doesn't guarantee I will sleep well at night.

I also have learned some more uplifting things!

1. I will be a mom before I'm 30
2. My husband is more amazing every day.
3. My husband can sew (I will post on that later!)
4. Coke and Dr. Pepper are also made caffeine free!
5. If a donut is what sounds good, I will eat it, guilt free.
6. I take a bottled water to church and don't feel one bit bad about sipping on it here and there.
7. I don't have to lift a thing, at work or at home, I'm well taken care of!
8. Miracles happen!

Hopefully as I am more into my 2nd trimester my list of uplifting things will outgrow the "other" things I've learned!

A Stroll Down Memory Lane

Lately my mind has wondered off down memory lane, mostly while trying to fall asleep. The memories I keep strolling back to are from childhood. Not sure if it's the pregnancy or what, but I thought I would share them...oddly enough the 2 that have stood out the most have to do with food. Imagine that.

Whenever my grandpa Marchant would come into town for visit he would go to the grocery store each morning around 6 or 7 and come back with white powdered donuts, Honey Smacks, Orange Juice and sometimes coffee for Grandma if we didn't have any. Of course he didn't have to buy everything every day...but the donuts were pretty much an every day thing!! I was ok with that!

Also while growing up my mom used to take me to Peter Piper Piza....it's the Pizza People Pick! From what I recall we would go there when I was off track from school and it was either when I went with her to dance or bowling! I just know it was on about 5400 South and 700 West. Peter Piper Pizza is not longer located in Utah. I loved getting my own little personal pan pizza! Funny that I would even think of this because pizza actually sounds awful to me, except for maybe Hawaiian pizza. Maybe.
I think a lot about how my mom would make family dinner every night. She's such a good cook! She cooked and baked from scratch a lot, from what I remember! There are so many meals that cross my mind that I want to be able to make for my kids. When dad found out he was diabetic the meals had to change a bit but mom has always been a wonderful cook and made every meal yummy for everyone! Oh man remember Jell-o!? (like it doesn't exist!) We had it with like every Sunday meal...in a separate dish with a plop of Dad's favorite Cool Whip on top! Though the "Marchant" cookies aren't the regular Sunday tradition anymore she still shares them with people in her new(er) neighborhood!

Ok I rambled more than I first intended....thanks for taking the stroll with me!

"Mommy and Daddy"....

Two of the sweetest words we are on our way to being known as!
On January 5th, after having a few days on just not feeling so well, and having ridiculously vivid strange dreams I caved and took a pregnancy test BEFORE actually missing my "monthly visitor."
4 days before to be exact. To my surprise after a brief 6 months of trying, the test was POSITIVE! I was at work, in the bathroom freaking out!

I tried to trick Mike into getting into a photobooth at Kmart by my work where I planned to share the news....the photobooth was gone....so my sweet Mikey learned he was going to be a daddy in the KMart Parking lot. He proposed at the mall...we're classy like that!

I will never forget the look in his eyes, even though he wasn't sure if he believed me or not!

That whole week I felt pretty sick but really was hungry A LOT...and for BEEF. It sickens me to think how much beef I actually consumed that week because now beef, or meat in general really, makes me gag to think about...so moving on.
After that first week I didn't experience much nausea and I was somewhat worried. Well, no need to be worried, between week 5 and 6 the nausea came rushing back.
I am now at week 9. Still battling the nausea but having only thrown up 3 times. My pants are getting snug and I've already purchased a couple new bras...oh my!

As much as Mikey and those that see me daily hear of my aches and yucks I am truly excited for this journey! According to all the online calculations my due date is September 16th. My first doctor's appointment is on the 19th and we'll see what he has to say. We will be happy with a healthy baby boy or girl. Some days I think there's a little sweet girl growing inside and sometimes I think it's a little stud growing!
On my side of the family this will be the 11th baby following Jill's baby boy in March! On the Simmons side our sweet little one will be the 7th. So at times you may hear me refer to our little muffin as 7-11....after-all...slurpees have yet to disappoint me...and baby!

Sadly my video from New Years Eve isn't working. It's really quite funny. Our friends Amanda and Mike, Nino and Camie along with Mike and I, learned to play Auld Lang Syne on homemade chimes! And we were AWESOME!

Maybe one day it will work and I will post a random blog and you can all enjoy it then!

As for the rest of our New Years celebration...

Around 11am on New Years we did a Simmons 5k at the Brighton High track!
Later that night I was pretty sick...and it was then we thought "this year could be a bit different for us!"

Vegas Baby

How could I forget Vegas?! After listening to a time share presentation we got a free, well mostly free, trip to Vegas! We stayed at the Tropicana for 2 nights. Because we were there more in the middle of the week, we finished our weekend in St. George with Travis and Louise. SO much fun!!!
We enjoyed a Gondola ride at the Venetian! Totally worth the money! A free dinner at Planet Hollywood, and a 24 hour buffet! Oh and Vegas has a Pin Ball Hall of Fame! A bit of a hole in the wall but seriously fun, we could have spent more time there, and some day we will!

Then there was our hike in St. George, Snow Canyon. BEAUTIFUL!

And what better way to end a weekend then with a dance party!? Quinn, Audrey, Pierce and Tessa do it best!

29 Forever...right?

For some reason when you ask a woman how old she is she say's "29 and not a year older!" no matter what the actual age is! Well I reached that magical number! Fortunately for me, I guess, not too many people believe me when I first tell them, so I think over the next 10 years I can keep saying 29 and nobody will even question me! Then again, I think the disbelief I get is more about how I act, rather than look, but either way 29 I am on this current day!
This year we celebrated by going to see This is It! EXCELLENT!! We also enjoyed a nice morning at Hogle Zoo, we are members after all! It was a perfect morning. Temps cool enough for the animals to be active, and it wasn't crowded at all. I really had a great birthday! Thank you Mikey!

For those that have missed us, get ready....here is your chance to catch up on us! Since our last post, we celebrated Halloween, I turned 29, we gobbled some turkey and put up the Christmas tree. I will start with Halloween!
It's simple really...Mike was a banana and I was a fat chef! We partied at the ward trunk or treat then watched Wait Until Dark (I think that's the name, with Audrey Hepburn). It was a good one for us, thanks to Venita's mom for suggesting it!
Venita made a perfect Dorothy and Jeph was a great scarecrow! And we love "Toto"!!

I was really going to be better at blogging, darn Facebook just takes over all of us doesn't it!? Well if not for you then for me I'm posting some pictures of a fun camping trip Mikey and I took a few weeks ago, just the two of us! When you have an awesome husband like mine that makes your blog into an actual book then blogging becomes a photo journal, so if over the next bit all you see are photos....well...enjoy them! Life still goes on for us here at the Bailey residence. We now have church callings, well calling! Mike and I teach the 7 year olds in primary. We even spoke in church and lived to tell about it. We are the favorite aunt and uncle so Jeph and Venita's new pup Sabaka, we have a nephew from Danny and Lisa on the way and a surprise on the way too from Jill and Travis! We love our families and enjoy all the excitement around us!

A Labor Day Weekend in Montana

Andy and Beth live in Montana and we haven't been up to visit them before so Mikey and I hopped in an RV with Mike B. Lynn, Jeff and Venita and started our little adventure up North.
Saturday morning we headed to the Farmers Market where I was hoping to find some Huckleberry Jam, no such luck. Huckleberries? Yes, EVERYWHERE. Jam? Not even one jar.
I should have just bought a bag and made my own but didn't. MY loss!! We then made lunches and headed to the river...now THIS was a great time! Mikey was so excited to fish and float in the tube down the river and I was excited to just relax. We all took a turn in the tube, or raft. Some swam and jumped up the rocks into the river and some just made a lovely sand castle! I have to say the river was the highlight for me! Saturday night we went up the canyon for some hot dog roasting and s'mores making. Sunday church and naps and Monday we got back in the RV and head home! We had a great time and hope to make it up there next summer for some more river fun :) Thanks Andy and Beth for being such great hosts!

Our Anniversary Getaway!

I know it's been a couple weeks but better late than never right?! I left Mike up to planning our anniversary fun this year and boy did he do a great job! After work on Thursday the 23rd (our actual anniversary) I came home to Mike, who said he had class that night. That was surprise #1. He then told me to pack my bag for a sleepover, in a big enough bag for not just 1 but 2 nights!! As we drove I realized we were headed to Park City. We are the poor kids living with the in-laws so I'm sure you can imagine I'm thinking "where on earth are we staying up here that we could possibly afford?!" Mike just kept telling me to trust him and I'm so glad I did. We ended up at the Canyon Westgate Resort, yes still trusting him at this point was getting tough! ha-ha! As we went to park Mike started explaining how we could stay here. With some help he saw an ad on KSL.com classifieds for a stay at this resort for $25 a night and all we had to do while staying there is listen to a time share deal and take a tour. We did that Friday and it was only 90 minutes and we just said no to the offer got our $25 gift receipt to the resteraunt there and stayed our 2 nights! SCORE! We went to Park City Main street for some dinner and walking around, we enjoyed the pool, and shopping! It was such a wonderful getaway! It really couldn't have been better! Thank you Mikey for taking such great care of me and for planning such a wonderful getaway for us! I LOVE YOU!!!!

Summer summer summer Time!

Summer is in full swing and so are we! So far we have had 5 birthdays for the kiddos, Mae, Jessica, Hazel, Reese and just this past week Audrey, and we're only half way thru summer! We don't have pictures of every event but we got some good ones over a nice long weekend in St. George, where we did celebrate Jessica's golden 4th birthday. We hung out with the Johnson clan and had some good times. We even toughed out the 106 heat in Vegas for an afternoon. Time keeps flying by. We've already done so much and there's still SO much more to come! This next week we celebrate our 1 year anniversary, we will be going to Lagoon for the 4th annual Simmons' Lagoon Day, a trip to St. George for a baptism and we'll be making our way to Missoula Montana over Labor Day!

What's Up?!

While we have all been waiting for summer to actually arrive, we have kept ourselves busy with spring! The slide show pretty much speaks for itself. Mike and I got passes to the Hogle Zoo, that's right, we're officially members for the next year! We really do enjoy going! Lisa and Danny introduced us to Kick Croquet, we went with some other Simmons' to ReAL Soccer and David Archuleta's mini concert, and a Bees game with some good friends, Nino and Camie, who just had a little baby boy Cooper! We also enjoyed a few flyovers by the Airforce!

I will try to be better about summer posts....after-all this was just a few weeks of fun adventures and Summer is sure to have much much more!

Families are just Fabulous!

Last Friday was International day of Families! Not a holiday for one individual but a holiday in celebration of your family as a whole. I had never seen this holiday before this year as I was checking my work calendar a couple of weeks ago, and it put a smile on my face! I am SO thankful for the family I have come from and for the family I have joined. My parents raised me well, regardless of how quirky and strange I turned out, and Mike's mom raised him well, and Mike B. has contributed to that joy over the past 10 years or so! We both have amazing siblings who we also think of as friends. They let us live in their home, have FHE with them, wrestle with the kids, play fun games, shoot hoops, show off tricks on the trampoline, have BBQ's, Jazz game get togethers, road trip visits and much much more. Nearly 10 months ago Mike and I were married and what an overwhelming, amazing feeling it was to be able to share that day with our families. I remember when my sister Jill got married I cried because I wasn't endowed at the time therefore I was the only family member unable to witness her sealing. My mom reminded me that when my day came my whole family would be there, and what a blessing that was. We have such great examples surrounding us and we thank our Father in Heaven each night for that. We love you and though it's a week late...Happy International Day of Families! We couldn't ask for a better group of people to call Family.

A Temple Date with Tulips!

Yesterday Mike and I went with our other 1/2 Jeph and Venita to the Salt Lake Temple for an endowment sessions. It was the first live session for Venita and I and it was a great experience! We want to strive to make it to a session each month. We took Trax there and it was raining the whole time, but when we walked out it was beautiful. The tulips were our favorite, so that's where we took a few shots before the battery died.

Thank you Jeph and Venita for being our other 1/2 and helping us to be better members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Monday nights are starting to get exciting! We are fortunate to live just minutes from Jeph and Venita who we like to have FHE with. They have met a fun new couple, Austin and Stephanie, in their ward/branch who we like to hang out with too. Austin and I actually went to high school together and our parents are now in the same ward...small world eh?! Anyway...Austin and Stephanie hosted FHE this week and man was it exciting! First off they have some fun dogs, Atreyu and Beloved...I was in heaven! We played with the pups while Stephanie was in the kitchen whipping up a delicious surprise....SKOOKIES!!! Cookies + Skilletts = SKOOKIES! TO....DIE....FOR.
After such goodness we played with the 15 baby chicks that roam their kiddie pool in the front room.

What does a woman want?

Occasionally an outing with the ladies is much needed therapy to feed the soul of a girlie girl, and that's just what I did with my cousins, Melissa, Tricia, Jenni, Peggy, my sister Jill, my mom and sister in law Venita!
We enjoyed a nice venture thru the What a Woman Wants show at the Southtowne Expo Center, where I purchased new sheets for our bed (I'll share pictures when it's made!!) and new jewelry polish and cleanser to make my ring sparkle like new! We ended the afternoon at Texas Roadhouse....note to self: even the mild buffalo wings will leave one with flaming lips.

Thank you ladies for a fun outing, let's do it again!

Mike and I have been unpacking, slowly but surely, and settling in with my wonderful in-laws! We still have plenty to sort thru and organizing to do but with time we'll have that all done. Sorry for not updating for a bit. Blogging takes precious time as you all know, it's gotta look just right! Anyhow...watch for upcoming posts from early March to future March events including; Disney on Ice, Laser Tag with Simmons family, Mike's birthday, Marchant and Simmons birthdays, Rock Band....and more! Soon enough we'll have pictures to post and stories to share, just keeping you in the loop! The first Sunday in our new ward went well. I went to RS for the first time in possibly 3 years! I've been in YW and primary ...oh I guess I did go to RS in my old ward a couple of times before primary...hmm anyway, I like being with the younger crowd, less intimidating :o)

A special thanks to Jill and Travis for being such great landlords, Jeph, Venita, Erica, Mark and my parents for helping load up all of our crap to move! Every little bit helped!

Mom and dad can we live with you!?

It's darn near official....Mike and I are moving in with his parents!
Travis and Jill (our AMAZING landlords) posted our place on KSL classifieds Monday night,
Tuesday night 2 showings and interest is high. The wife of one of the viewers is coming tomorrow
morning and after she is sold on it they will sign the contract to move in...in 2 WEEKS.
So forgive us if we miss skip out on blogging over the next few weeks, lots of boxing up to do!

To answer any questions as to why...No I'm not pregnant but would like to start soon....and we can get Mikey thru a lot more schooling if we can save up on some rent for a bit so that's our plan. We are very lucky to be able to move in with his parents. I have the best in-laws ever, I am a very blessed girl!

If anything changes we'll keep you posted but like I said, it's darn near official and I don't even have one box packed and just like my family would say..."we have a lot of S***!"

February Catch Up!

The beginning of February was started with a wonderful weekend in St. George! Aaaah it was the little slice of heaven Mike and I both needed, especially for the events that were about to take place, out of our control....for the most part!

My niece Tessa and Pierce both had birthdays while we were in St. George, thus the reason we went. Tessa is now 1 going on about 8 months until she decides to beef up here long slender arms and legs. (That's right baby girl you eat that cuppie cake, you let it go straight to your thighs!)

Pierce is now 4 and he had an Indoor Beach Party for his birthday, what a treat that was! ALOOOOHA!!!
Along with about 6 other 3 and 4 old boys he play pin the sunglasses on the sun, decorated sun visors, and did the limbo, Mike and I were in charge of holding the limbo bar! Travis and Louise always do a swell job with theme parties!

We were also fortunate enough to go watch Q-Dogg in his basketball game. Good little baller that boy is, just look at him hustle! Gooo Q-Dogg! (I don't remember the score but we do know his team won!!)

Audrey was just a good big sister this weekend helping out with both birthdays and cheering on Quinn! Sadly...no picture of just Audrey this trip but we have one with her in it!

After church that Sunday Mike and I went on our own adventure. We had never hiked around the Red Rocks, so that we did! We had such a wonderful time!

The temps were perfect with blue skies and it was very hard to come back home to snow...we'll be sure to return there more and perhaps in a few years move there :)

Upon our return we were off to a great week, then BAM an accident in the kitchen! Mikey was just being ever so fun with me, tickling me while I had to go to potty, fun I know! I was wearing socks and lost my balance slipping my feet right out from under me slamming my head on the kitchen floor. A huge goose egg quickly appeared and Mikey was no longer laughing, no was It was quite painful and I had a messed up neck for a good week. Just as I'm starting to feel better from that I got hit with a horrible cold and missing 3 days of work. Missing work is only fun when you have fun plans and you feel good but when you are down with a cold and you can't even sleep, missing work and the funny people there, NOT so much fun. I'm still getting over my cold, in doing so I have passed it along to my dear hubby who has taken awesome care of me over the past couple of weeks! We both made breakfast for each other on Valentines morning and had a nice dinner with my family. We were both feeling pretty crappy thru the weekend and today we both had the day off. SO that is why it's been a few weeks since our last update. Here's wishing everyone a lovely rest of February and good health! We will do our best to update more often :)

I know, I know. I'm a huge nerd. Now that that is out of the way....So I was listening to the Enid Greene show on KSL Newsradio on Saturday and decided to call in and make a comment. Here is my call...

Now, she was on a hard break and I was not able to get my full point across. But in essence, I was going to continue talking about socialism. What's coming next? Universal Health Care? If the government can tell these CEO's that they can only make a certain amount of money, what's gonna stop the government from telling us we can't have any pizza or french fries when they control our health care? All in all, I don't think the CEO's of failing companies should be making the outrageous salaries they are making and getting the bonus' they are getting when their companies are in the crapper. But is this the way to go about it? I'm still mulling it over. Your thoughts?

Where did he get the energy?

So ever since I came home from work tonight my husband has been on a cleaning kick! Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining...I'm just wondering where he got all the energy. He is pretty good at helping me clean, especially when given specific details. But today...my goodness...he raised the bar!!

6 Months and counting

Yesterday was the 6th month mark for Mikey and me! Though I had my camera with me we failed to take pictures.
We grabbed some take out from Red Robin, where sitting at table about 4 feet away sat Shawn Bradley, he's even a giant when sitting! We took our food home so we could relax Simmons Style while watching a good flick and later I got a lovely massage......now aren't you glad I didn't share pictures?!

This one is worth sharing though! If you don't get it....just ask, it's one of my favorite jokes over the past year! Thanks Lisa!

Pinky Swear

PINK

I remember actually hating the color pink when I was little! Now I can't get enough of it! For 1 it's a good color for red heads, 2 it's a happy color, and 3 you can find just about anything in pink :-) My favorite perfume, Paris Hilton's Cancan, even has a pink feather on it. (yes I wear the scent of Paris Hilton...it's so hot!)

Today I will share 3 "pink" items that were surrounding me today. First off...my bum...no no I will not be posting nude pics, the pants people. Though not entirely pink there is some pink on the lettering and well...it says PINK so are you really going to argue this with me?

What better way to feed my bum (which apparently is being fed quite well) is to create a delicious meal while wearing this pink apron! My mom made it for me for Christmas and I love it...kind of wish it was a dress!

Then to workout my bum I jam to this, my pink zune. Mikey got me my very own for Christmas. It has some of my favorite funky tunes to get my groove goin'. Lately Christina Aguilera has really got my booty shakin'...and ya know what...I'm pretty sure I've seen her in plenty of pink as well :)

...No, not the winter blues! Today's color is blue so while I've been cleaning I've been keeping my blue eyes open for an idea of what I could take a picture of that is blue. There are PLENTY of blue items around our home. My first idea was my wrapping paper supply. For our wedding we were given a blue basket full of gift wrap, tape, ribbons, you get the idea. Well I put most of the blue items in the basket and took a few pictures. This was just going to have to do it for blue....and THEN Mike asked me if I wanted to take a little break to watch Flight of the Conchords! WELL DUH! Need you ask!? The show that Mike and I started watching together has been in the works of its 2nd season since the writers strike from last year, and last night it premiered :) We downloaded and began watching with excitement. About half way thru the episode what should appear before my eyes?!Our favorite New Zealanders, Brett and Jermaine in BLUE ROBES...this was perfect! I jumped up in excitement and got my camera ready. The pictures didn't turn out because I was taking them of our TV so Mike being the computer genious that he is had the idea of getting a screen shot of them from the computer....might be a bit of a cheat but it works for me!!

A week of many colors

Thanks to my cousin Peggy for inspiring the posts over this next week. I think it will help me even more get out of the winter blues funk, though this past week and weekend have helped quite a bit!
Peggy has declared this next week Color Week! Monday thru Friday I will post a picture each day representing the color of that day, they will be as follows:
Monday: Blue
Tuesday: Pink
Wednesday: Yellow
Thursday: Red
Friday: Purple
Anyone is welcome to do the same of course! I think it will help me get back into the blogging spirit and now that I finally found the charger for my camera battery I can use my camera and hopefully be as creative as Peggy is. P.S. I didn't take pictures of this weekend but Mike and I had a mini getaway...to his parents! We don't have the money to up and go anywhere fancy for a getaway but his parents home is large and well..fancy in my eyes and it was really just the getaway we needed. We weren't surrounded by the chores that need to be done (tomorrow) We relaxed, watched a movie and even went to sacrament with his parents! Sure it was simple, but it was just what we needed!

Last night Mike and I had the great opportunity to go to the Draper Temple open house.
Jeph and Venita had some extra tickets from their ward so we joined them along
with Mike and Lynn (my wonderful in-laws!) When we got to the church we discovered
2 of the buses had broken down so they were more than an hour behind schedule. Being the great thinkers that we are, we just drove there ourselves. (Not really what they wanted us to do, but we rebelled and went anyway....) We parked right on the temple grounds and walked right in!

IT WAS BEAUTIFUL!! Please if you have the opportunity to go, especially if you're not currently endowed, please do. The ceilings were ever so high with incredible chandeliers hung in the Celestial room and the sealing rooms.
I told Mike when I ever "upgrade" my ring it should just be a replica of those gorgeous crystals! **side note, I LOVE my ring, I have no plans of actually upgrading in the near future!**

Anyway, it took about 45 minutes to walk thru. We then went to Chili's for dinner. YUM!
Jeph and Venita then joined us for Ghost Town at our place. For those who haven't seen it, Ghost Town = Hilarious! We had some good laughs :)

Kicking the Winter Blues

I know most of us are done with winter, the bitter cold, the dirty slush, and cloudy days.

Though the past week has brought us MUCH more sunlight this month has been a
tough one for me. The winter blues have just taken over me. Is anyone
with me on this one?! (please say yes so I'm not alone here!)

I have struggled getting out of bed in the mornings, my body aches more than normal.
Let's not even start to talk about the constant irritability, and moodiness. My poor
husband has put up with a lot this month. Poor guy. I want to publicly thank him
for his ongoing patience and love for me. He may not have a lot of patience for
stupid drivers but he has always had incredible patience with me no matter
what. He has been my strength this month and he deserves the gold medal!
(isn't he handsome!? I think so!)

I love you Mikey! Thanks for being my everything!

Also...Oranges are really good in the morning and I have found this boosts my
morning spirits a bit :)

Go away blues, go away winter, bring on spring!

Simmons Style 2009

Mike and I were lucky to bring in the New Year with some of our closest friend. We hosted the get together at our place and everyone helped out by bringing goodies to share! We played Music Scene It, I'm not sure that we ever declared a winner on that...hmm it was still fun to say the least. I must say I think the highlight of the night was playing Mormon Mouthful. For any of you that have played or at least heard of Mad Gab it's the same idea, but Mormon phrases are used! Quite fun actually and we play it often at the in-laws (Mikes parents)! While playing the game this time Nino was a reader for one of the teams. I'm not exactly sure what the words looked like that he was reading but all he had to say was "Me Huge" and the room roared with laughter.....for a long time!
Anyway.......it was a really fun night topped off with a birthday cake for Amanda after the new year! Her birthday is, of course, January 1st and we were the first to sing and celebrate it!

Thanks friends for joining us, we won't forget how we brought in 2009 with such wonderful people!

New Year also meant New Hair...I have had a few requests for pictures but I'm waiting until I really decide what I'm doing with it! I have gone shorter and a bit darker....ok a lot darker from where I was at! Mike for one LOVES it and my good friend Melinda really did what I asked her too, I think I just wasn't prepared for the shock of it is all. I may be adding more blond, still trying to decide! So until then I may or may not post pictures...you'll just have to wait and see :)

I figured the best way to show all of the fun we had this Christmas season
was to just create a slide show!
At the Simmons' family white elephant exchange we played with new rules!
If you wanted to take a gift you had to challenge that person.
I wanted the Gold Fish so I challenged Mike B. to hop on one leg without switching
legs, whoever lasted the longest, won!
He fell, I won!
Mike and Andy had a leg wrestle, didn't last long, Andy has soccer thighs!
They also had to whistle like old men. I thought I married younger, apparently not the case!

We were happy to see the Santa paid a visit to everyone! Thank you Santa, and thank you everyone for a memorable Christmas!

So Elder's Quorum got out a few minutes early today so I went and sat in Primary and waited for Kimmy. The closing prayer in primary was given by a very special autistic boy. In his prayer he asked Heavenly Father to "please bless us all that we will give, and that we will love, and that we we all be kind to each other because... well, because it's Christmas! And that's what this time of year is about." Anyone who knows this young boy knows that he meant every word of that prayer from his heart. It was a good reminder. Thank you Tage.

December 2008 catch up!

Mike is a huge Glenn Beck fan so of course when his new book The Christmas Sweater hit stores and tickets went on sale for the show we had our book and tickets! We traveled up to Layton Hills Mall with Jeff and Venita for the book signing and later to the show, after scoring a few extra tickets we helped a few people see the show as well :)

We also got our tree that same day, though it took us all week to finally finish decorating it! We are happy with our first ever Christmas tree! It might be a little sparse with decor but we don't care...we love our tree!

This weekend we attended 2 Christmas parties at my parents home. The Marchant side Saturday night and the Limb side tonight.

Next week we start with the Simmons' family parties!

Last night while preparing for primary I came across about 4 new versions of "Popcorn Popping on the Apricot Tree" This one I found to be perfect for this time of year! The best part was I not only stumped the kids but also the teachers...thus meaning I performed my first official solo in primary in order for them to learn the new song! I found it so great I wanted to share it with you to share with the little munchkins in your life :)

After nearly 2 months of sitting in with primary, observing the chorister, I had my first run at it!
Last week I was sustained but I was home sick in bed, so today I did it, I survived my first week as the primary chorister!! Thanks to my mother in law who made an adorable apron with many pockets for the kids to choose from. I think the kinds enjoyed it! They were eager to be called on :)
1 week down....countless weeks to follow!
What a ride this is going to be!

Fresh Scents and Elbow Grease

Now that I'm finally starting to feel a bit better from the yucky cold
it's time to clean house. Mikey has been taking good care of me
and today he had to work, so I shall put on my gloves, roll up my sleeves
and use a little elbow grease!
While I have the energy I need to show my house a little TLC!

A week ago today I woke up a different age, a husband by my side and gifts scattered on the bed!
Mike likes to spoil but knew that this year we now have a budget, but he still a few tricks up his sleeves! I now have new scriptures with my new name on them, neat ear muffs for my ears when we go walking at night! A few other fun gifts and of course the addiction...NINTENDO!! Check out www.half.com this season for great AFFORDABLE finds...you won't regret it!! Anyway...Mikey also took me to breakfast, had a cake for me with balloons and a card in the afternoon! I even got a gift about a week in advance...a fancy new G1 phone...love it!! It was a nice relaxing day....just what I wanted! Thanks again Mikey for another wonderful memorable day, I love you!

My hubby got me something for my birthday that seems to have

I have a lot of catching up to do with the blog, which I will get around to, I promise! But for now here are a couple of things Mike and I did in October!

A few Sunday's back we went for a drive up to Brighton, and took a stroll around Silver Lake with Jeff and Venita. It was a perfect way to work up an appetite for family dinner!

This past monday Jeff and Venita joined us for FHE, carving pumpkins! We had a great time, thanks JV!

We didn't just spend the whole month with Jeff and Venita though! We went to a REAL Soccer game with Tara and Adam (Tara is a work friend of Mike's who we are starting to hang out with more! She met her sweetie the day after we got married!) Tara and Adam also joined us, ALONG with Jeff Venita, Marianna and Trevor for a fun Halloween dinner (props to Mikey for an awesome spread on the table...seriously, just wait for the pictures!)

I had a girls night with my my mom and a few cousins and enjoyed an evening of Chili's and Witches Night Out at Garnder Village (we left before the grand prize drawing...too bad, my mom's name was apparently the first they called out!! ha-ha)

Mikey's Saturn got broken into, he fixed it for under $45 himself and we are now selling it! Any takers?!?! Don't worry he already has a new ride, his 1999 Subaru Outback. Totally fits him! He's loving it, which makes me happy and all is well!

I will get more pictures up, but enoy these for now!

A moment of joy!

So this could come across a bit...well oober gooberish but I'm going to share anyway!
The past couple of days I've been thinking about our wedding day. For all who were there
know what perfect weather we had, how much we laughed and just what a blast we had!
It was honestly the best day. Anyway, the reason I'm sharing this is to explain our main picture for now...though it appears to be a bit out of focus and my eyes may be shut the expressions on our faces are priceless! We couldn't have been happier leaving Heritage Gardens to go start our new life together, and we had just had the funnest time with our families and friends, especially dancing with the nieces and nephews! We will NEVER forget those moments :)
In time there will be another picture and it will show our goofiness and where we are in life...but for now...a picture showing a few of you who shared in making our day the
best day is just the way to go!!

General Conference...up close!

We are enjoying our conference weekend!
The messages have been great, haven't they?!
Well Mike and I haven't posted about our TV aka movie screen yet
and thought today would be a good time!
About 2 weeks after we were married we had our projector and we made
a trip to Home Depot for supplies!
After a few hours of labor, we now get to watch General Conference on
THIS!

It's cheaper than a big screen tv, and WE made it
with our own two...err four hands!!
Just wait until the Jazz season really starts up...we hope to have many guests enjoying
our "big screen" with us!

Cyst-ers!

How do Jill and I know that we are sisters!?
We each had huge cysts in the past few months!
My cyst caught me off guard and it grew over the past month upon
my ovary and one morning it burst. Not what I would call FUN by any means.
After getting an ultrasound we discovered I had had a 6 1/2 inch cyst burst. Yikes.
Well Jill on the other hand, she's had hers growing for a while. They discovered it while she was

pregnant with Reece. The doctors were watching it closely and yesterday Jill went under the
knife. This was going to be an out patient surgery until they realized the cyst was bigger and
it was wrapping around tubes...yuck. So long story short, they made an incision lower and removed a GRAPEFRUIT sized cyst. She is at the hospital recovering nicely but will be in pain for a bit.
And that my friends is how I know Jill and I are Cyst-ers!
